Sexual Abuse Recovery Groups called “Grow Groups”
Our recovery groups are a confidential safe place for victims to find comfort, friendships and information to help them recover from sexual abuse. In the company of other victims the members find they are not alone, for others have similar painful stories, heartaches, regrets, secrets and fears.
Each week a new topic is discussed to help victims overcome the many rippling effects from sexual abuse. These topics include:
In the groups victims are encouraged to tell or write their story and share it with their group as they feel safe to do so.
There are guidelines set to keep the groups safe and effective and everything shared in the groups must be kept confidential.
We offer separate recovery groups are for men, women, and teens ages 13-17.
All victims are welcome regardless of their sex, age, religion, sexual preference, or race.
When you call to register an informal meeting time can be set up to meet one of the group facilitators and ask any questions.
We are faith based which allows us to freely address faith issues in our groups. We admit we need help and rely on Almighty God for wisdom, strength and grace.
All the recovery groups are facilitated by survivors of sexual abuse who have gone through the Healing private Wounds recovery group. Victims are encourage to repeat Grow Group several times until they feel they no longer need the support of the group.
Often victims are not ready for a group so we offer one- on- one counseling and mentoring until the victims are ready for a group.
